Please tell me you have seen the movie Dead Poet’s Society?! (if not, it is on Stan and I would recommend it)
This movie has one of the most iconic scenes, and phrases, known to man (as far as I am concerned).
"O Captain! My Captain!"
The movie stars Robin Williams as an English teacher who inspires his class to delve into their studies and shift their perspectives toward a greater knowledge and authenticity of poetry.
It is kind of an old movie, so I can see you thinking that you probably won’t watch it, but despite being released in July 1989 Dead Poet’s Society is still entirely relevant today.
PSA – this movie may be triggering for some.
So, with this film in mind I thought I would share with you some of the things that I am passionate about. And, pre-warning, I am passionate about a lot of things!
I will share a few of my passions with you in this post, and over the next few posts will really go into these deeper and explain why I feel the way I do and try to share with you some information on each.
As an early childhood educator, I am very passionate about creating a safe and creative learning space for the children I work with. I am passionate about giving them the opportunity to grow and learn in an environment that nurtures their interests and supports them in their weaknesses. I love working with children who I can see are struggling and may need extra support because I believe that no child should have to feel forgotten or invisible.

I am super passionate about travel! This is one of my greatest passions. I have so far been to 5 countries, other than Australia. One of my favourite places to travel to is Thailand. I studied an ESL course there and then taught English as a second language briefly (very briefly) for a little bit at the end of 2017 and the start of 2018. I've been back and forth a few times from Thailand volunteering with children and with animals.
As a sufferer of BPD and Anxiety Disorder, I am passionate about connecting people to the right source they need to help them with their journey. I am always working towards about getting the help that I need, so that I can be helpful to others too. When my mental health is a mess I cannot be the loving and kind person that I strive to be.
I am passionate about equality and the environment, among other seemingly millennial passions. I am flawed and imperfect so I am in no way judgemental of those that don’t reduce carbon emissions, don’t use natural products or if people aren’t at least trying to cut down on the amount of meat they’re eating. I know that life is hard and we can’t all save the planet, but I like to try. (I know this one is going to be a touchy post when I do write it, already preparing for the backlash)

As an animal lover, I am passionate about providing sanctuary and quality of life to animals. I made the most difficult choice in the world and left my Border collie, Sophie - my baby girl, behind when I was going through my divorce (that’s a whole other story) because animals deserve to have space and be… animals. I also have the cutest little cat in the world, Lily (also affectionately known as puddin’).

As a blogger, I am passionate about my ability to potentially influence a wider audience with my views and values. I am excited to share my thoughts and explain my perception of the world.
Going forward with my blog posts I would like to spend time discussing the things I am passionate about. I want to use this platform to educate and to explore opinions.
I encourage you to search ‘Honest to Blog – Ang Nicole’ on Facebook and send me a message, or even comment on this blog, if there are any issues you think I should touch on.
As an honest, open and blatant human I will provide you with my views. As an easily offended, overthinking and anxious human I encourage you to be thoughtful with your comments or messages.
I am looking forward to this new venture, and thank you for being on it with me.
